I originally signed up with my current mobile phone provider when they were known as BT Cellnet, before I switched to their pay as you go service called BT Cellnet U, which was then renamed Genie, then they demerged from BT and became mmO2. That name was finally shortened to the company we know today as O2. As you can see we have a relationship that goes back a fair way, to be precise I have remained a loyal customer for over 9 years.
In a saturated market such as mobile phones loyalty is very valuable to the providers so when I called O2 today to tell them I was thinking of switching to Vodafone it was to be expected that they would try and offer me an improved deal to retain my custom.

Inspired by a trip to the shrine to consumerism that is our local shopping centre where just about every shop had a summer sale I have decided to spend the next couple of weeks clearing my flat of the stuff I no longer need by selling it via any means possible.
My first port of call was eBay where I have created a new account dedicated to Millionaire Adventure. The problem with creating a new account is that I start again with a zero feedback rating so for now I have only listed 10 items, of which a couple will hopefully sell and kick start my feedback rating. Once I have got some positive feedback I will start to list more of the stuff that I have to sell. (more…)
I purchased a Sat-Nav for my other half from Amazon last month so you can imagine my frustration last week when I received an email from them advertising their new lower price for the exact same product.
Fortunately whilst researching a money saving article a few weeks before I had read about Amazon refunding price drops within 28 days if you email their customer services dept. So that’s exactly what I did and within a couple of hours I had a reply agreeing to refund me £16.53.
I was lucky enough to get tickets to see the Ladies final at Wimbledon yesterday so could not resist the chance to benefit from another matched bet offer. This time it was from one of my existing accounts that was offering a £50 free bet on the Men’s final tomorrow if I placed a £50 bet on the score in yesterdays Ladies final.

I can’t believe how quickly the last 3 months have gone, but I guess that’s what happens when you go on holiday for 3 weeks! Anyway it’s time for me to review my spending against my budget for the last 3 months.
