The Mystery of Mystery Shopping

I signed up for another mystery shopping assignment today, this time I had to go to the nominated post office and ask three specific questions and note the response. There was also a couple of questions asking me for my opinion on the state of this particular post office and in return for doing this I was offered £4 + reimbursement for the cost of purchasing something on display.

Unfortunately on arriving at this particular post office I discovered that it was simply a counter within a newsagents and therefore anything I purchased on display had to be purchased at the shop till. As I could not obtain a post office receipt this then invalidated my submission so I did not get paid anything! It’s very disappointing that they sent me on this wild goose chase, wasting about an hour of my time.

So I am left trying to figure out the mystery of why they did not know that it was just a post office counter!

I have now received the £4 payment from GAPbuster despite not being able to submit a receipt. This is after exchanging several emails with them arguing my case.
