Blog to be renamed ‘Yet Another Tesco Voucher saving’

Well actually no it isn’t! I think Millionaire Adventure is a much better name. But as I use yet another Tesco voucher for my online shopping, this time saving £15 off a £100 spend, it does raise an interesting question about when something becomes part of your normal habit and therefore doesn’t actually constitute a saving.

One of the main reasons that I now rely on online shopping rather than going to the supermarket is that I know that I can normally find a voucher online that at least saves me the delivery cost (plus I am lazy!). Therefore I don’t even consider the alternative savings that could be made by actually going to the supermarket myself as I know I can easily add £5 to the total by shopping online with a voucher. This contradicts my first rule that I must explore every possible money making opportunity. Therefore I have decided to stop counting Tesco vouchers in the total as the 5 vouchers that I have included so far is plenty. Plus this blog will become very boring if it was just a long list of savings I had made at Tesco.

This doesn’t mean that I will stop using money-off vouchers with my food shopping as it’s still free money as far as I am concerned. But for the purposes of Millionaire Adventure I will be forced to consider what other savings I can make on my food shopping.
